Bulk Mineral Unit Converter

Convert between metric tonnes, kilograms, cubic metres, bags, and truck loads for calcium carbonate, lime, quartz, and other industrial minerals.

Why bulk density matters for mineral conversions

Unlike water, industrial mineral powders have a bulk density that varies significantly by product and grade. Ultra-fine GCC (600 to 1250 mesh) has a bulk density of around 800 kg/m³, while quartz powder is around 1,300 kg/m³. Using the wrong bulk density in volume calculations leads to significant errors in storage planning, silo sizing, and logistics.

The converter uses typical bulk density values for each mineral. Actual values vary with particle size, moisture content, and compaction — use these results for planning purposes and verify with your supplier for precise silo or container sizing.

SK Stardust Industries can provide bulk density data sheets for all our products. Contact us for technical data or to discuss bulk supply options.
